Maria Tan, ABS-CBN NewsMANILA — After &quot;Mary Grace Piattos,&quot; another personality with a similar surname — &quot;Piatos&quot; — has emerged as a purported recipient of confidential fund payouts from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) during the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.</div>During Tuesday&#x27;s trial before the Senate impeachment court, prosecution lawyer Lorna Kapunan presented acknowledgment receipts (AR) that the OVP had submitted to the Commission on Audit&#x27;s Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office (COA-ICFAO) as part of its audit of the office&#x27;s confidential funds for 2023.The AR showed to COA auditor Xylene Mae del Campo that P140,000 was paid to a &quot;Pia Piatos-Lim&quot; for the &quot;Purchase of Information.&quot;Another AR showed that a certain &quot;Ralph Josh Bacon&quot; also received P150,000 for P150,000 for Purchase of Information.Kapunan also presented an AR indicating an &quot;Anne Ongpauco&quot; received P50,000 for Purchase of Information while a &quot;Heart Santiago&quot; received P250,000 for the purchase or rental of supplies, materials and equipment for confidential operations.&quot;Tinanong mo ba kung sino ito at kung related sila sa presiding officer natin?&quot; Kapunan asked Del Campo, who said she had not.Kapunan was likely alluding to actress Heart Evangelista — the wife of Sen. Francis Escudero, who acts as the presiding officer in the impeachment trial. Bong Revilla, and a &quot;Clarisse Hontiveros,&quot; who shares a surname with Sen. Risa Hontiveros.Also named in the ARs was Jose Diokno Jr., whom Kapunan asked if he was related to Rep. Jose &quot;Chel&quot; Diokno. Two payout recipients with the surname &quot;Lapid&quot; were also listed, prompting Kapunan to jest that they might be related to Sen. Lito Lapid.The names listed in the ARs for confidential fund payouts have come under scrutiny during Duterte&#x27;s impeachment trial, with questions raised over their legitimacy. Among the most notable are &quot;Mary Grace Piattos&quot; and &quot;Renan Piattos,&quot; whose surnames are also the name of a popular snack brand, as well as &quot;Andy Lim,&quot; whose name sounds like the Filipino phrase &quot;Ang dilim (It&#x27;s dark).&quot;<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/3/ovp-payment-to-mary-grace-piattos-raised-in-senate-trial-1556">READ: OVP receipt for &#x27;Mary Grace Piattos&#x27; reaches Senate trial </a></div>Duterte&#x27;s camp earlier said the names could have been pseudonyms.The impeachment court is currently hearing allegations that Duterte misused confidential funds from the OVP and the Department of Education, one of four articles of impeachment filed against her.
