Michael Poa said, it was just not highlighted by the media even during the House Justice Committee hearings but the defense has been saying that DepEd has it in 2024.  </p><p>“It’s just a matter of fact. In fact, dati pa namin sinasabi yan kahit nung mga committee hearings pa lang na talagang may credit notice yung Deped. Obviously, that’s not something that was being highlighted by the media but yun ang fact. I think it was August 9, 2024 when DepEd received its credit notice so at least nalabas na ngayon in open court na yung talaga yung status,” Poa told reporters.</p><p>Poa also explained that a credit notice may still be reopened by the Commission on Audit (COA) even after it has been settled by a government agency.</p><p>“It’s also a fact that a credit notice may be reopened. Meaning, kahit na-settle na yung account it may be reopened so, tingnan natin kung ano ang mangyayari dito sa credit notice na ‘to,” Poa said.</p><p>“Sa amin, on the part of defense at least nailabas na talaga categorically na may credit notice ang DepEd for the first and second quarter ng paggamit ng confidential fund,” Poa added.</p><p>A credit notice, Poa said, simply means that COA can still do the auditing on how the confidential funds were spent. </p><p>“Ang credit notice, simply means na after evaluation po ng Commission on Audit, ng liquidation report, ng submission at ng tugon sa AOM is they allow i-audit yung nangyaring paggamit ng confidential fund, meaning, wala silang nagkitang…don sa paggamit ng confidential funds,” Poa explained. </p><p>“Ayokong bigyan ng comment yung kaso ng prosecution. Ang sa atin, I always try to maintain being factual. Hindi ito first time, matagal na naming sinasabing may credit notice yung DepEd.
