Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has directed the PNP Health Service to coordinate with the anti-graft court to ensure Bonoan’s appearance. </p><p>“His medical condition and safety will remain a priority throughout the process,” Nartatez said in a statement. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/3/sandigan-denies-bid-to-drop-bonoan-graft-raps-1300">Sandiganbayan denies Ombudsman’s bid to drop Bonoan from graft case</a><br/><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/31/ombudsman-still-trying-to-get-everything-bonoan-can-contribute-to-flood-control-case-2331">Ombudsman ‘still trying to get everything’ Bonoan can contribute to flood control case</a></div><p>The Sandiganbayan Third Division issued a subpoena on August 7, which was served at the PNP General Hospital where the 80-year-old Bonoan is currently under hospital arrest.</p><p>According to the PNP, Bonoan is being treated for diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and other medical conditions.</p><p>He was initially brought to the PNP General Hospital on June 1, shortly after he surrendered following the issuance of an arrest warrant by the Sandiganbayan over a plunder case involving flood control project anomalies.</p><p>He was later transferred to a private hospital for further evaluation, but was eventually returned to police custody and brought back to the PNP General Hospital.</p><p>The Sandiganbayan had allowed Bonoan to remain under hospital arrest, taking into account his advanced age and medical condition.</p><p>The former DPWH chief is expected to testify against Revilla in connection with the case before the anti-graft court.</p><p>Nartatez said the PNP Health Service will make sure Bonoan&#x27;s transfer to the Sandiganbayan is carried out with the necessary medical and security support.</p><p>The police will also coordinate with court authorities and concerned police units to ensure the orderly implementation of the subpoena.</p><p>“The PNP respects the authority of the courts and will ensure that all lawful orders are properly implemented.
