<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178652298368820260727-marcos-5th-sona-RTVM-41.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p><em></em>President Ferdinand Marcos Jr delivers his 5th State of the Nation Address at the House of Representatives in Quezon City on July 27, 2026. <em> Jonathan Cellona , ABS-CBN News<br/></em></p><p>MANILA – Public satisfaction with the Marcos administration recovered to neutral territory in June 2026, with its net satisfaction rating rising 14 points from -13 in March to +1, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released Wednesday.</p><p>The latest SWS national survey found that 42% of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the general performance of the national administration, while 40% were dissatisfied and 17% were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied.</p><p>SWS classifies net satisfaction ratings from +9 to -9 as neutral.</p><p>The June result marked a significant recovery from the administration&#x27;s March rating, which SWS described as a record low for the Marcos administration and the lowest net satisfaction rating recorded for a national administration in 16 years.</p><p>Despite the improvement, the latest figure remained below the +14 moderate rating recorded in November 2025.</p><p>The survey was conducted from June 20 to 29, about a month before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.&#x27;s 2026 State of the Nation Address.</p><p>The March 2026 survey had placed the national administration&#x27;s net satisfaction rating at -13, with 34% of respondents satisfied and 49% dissatisfied.</p><p>The administration had entered 2026 with 40% of Filipinos saying they were satisfied with Marcos&#x27; performance at the end of 2025, according to an earlier SWS survey.</p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/4/sws-4-in-10-filipinos-satisfied-with-marcos-performance-at-end-of-2025-1455"><strong>SWS: 4 in 10 Filipinos satisfied with Marcos&#x27; performance at end of 2025</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>IMPROVEMENT</strong></div><p>Of the 17 areas of government performance measured by SWS, the administration received &quot;very good&quot; ratings in four.</p><p>The highest rating was for providing basic education to young people in public elementary and high schools, at +68. This was followed by improving the quality of children&#x27;s education at +58, helping the poor at +52, and creating policies that generate job opportunities at +51.</p><p>The basic education item was included in the SWS survey for the first time.</p><p>The administration received &quot;good&quot; ratings for developing science and technology (+49), implementing housing programs for the poor (+48), ensuring food security (+41), defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+35), and ensuring an efficient public transportation system (+33).</p><p>Three areas received &quot;moderate&quot; ratings: ensuring that no family will ever go hungry (+26), preparing for problems caused by climate change (+24), and taking care of Filipinos in Middle Eastern countries affected by war or armed conflict (+15).</p><p>Three areas were rated &quot;neutral&quot;: generating solutions for rising oil prices (0), ensuring that oil companies do not take advantage of oil prices (-6), and fighting crimes that victimize ordinary citizens (-8).</p><p>Two areas received &quot;poor&quot; ratings: fighting inflation (-12) and eradicating graft and corruption in government (-14).</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>SATISFACTION RISES IN 12 AREAS</strong></div><p>Compared with March, net satisfaction improved in 12 of the subjects measured.</p><p>The biggest increase was recorded in ensuring that no family would go hungry, which rose 14 points from +12 to +26.</p><p>Ratings for developing science and technology, creating policies that generate job opportunities, ensuring an efficient public transportation system, and ensuring food security each rose by 9.</p><p>Satisfaction with defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea increased 8 points, from +27 to +35, while satisfaction with helping the poor rose 7 points, from +45 to +52.</p><p>The rating for ensuring that oil companies do not take advantage of oil prices improved 6 points, from -12 to -6.</p><p>Improving the quality of children&#x27;s education rose 6 points, from +52 to +58.</p><p>Generating solutions for rising oil prices improved by 5 points, from -5 to zero, while ratings for fighting inflation and implementing housing programs for the poor each rose 3 points.</p><p>Satisfaction with eradicating graft and corruption in government declined 4 points, from -10 to -14.</p><p>The rating for taking care of Filipinos in Middle Eastern countries affected by war or armed conflict fell 6 points, from +21 to +15.</p><p>Preparation for problems caused by climate change dropped 14 points from +38, the rating recorded when the subject was last surveyed in December 2024.</p><p>The rating for fighting crimes affecting ordinary citizens barely changed, slipping from -7 to -8.</p><p>The administration&#x27;s net satisfaction rating improved across all four major geographic areas.</p><p>Balance Luzon recorded the highest rating at +13, followed by the Visayas at +5. Metro Manila posted -11, while Mindanao recorded -17.</p><p>Compared with March, the rating increased by 13 points in Balance Luzon, from zero to +13. The Visayas posted the largest geographic improvement, rising 28 points from -23 to +5. Metro Manila&#x27;s rating increased 12 points, from -23 to -11, while Mindanao&#x27;s rose 10 points, from -27 to -17.</p><p>The administration also recorded improvements in both rural and urban areas.</p><p>In rural areas, net satisfaction increased 18 points, from -8 to +10. In urban areas, it rose 11 points, from -18 to -7.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>AGE, GENDER GROUPS</strong></div><p>The improvement was also recorded across all age groups.</p><p>Among Filipinos aged 18 to 24, net satisfaction jumped 30 points, from -17 to +13, moving from poor to moderate.</p><p>Among those aged 25 to 34, the rating rose 8 points from -18 to -10, while among those aged 35 to 44, it increased 8 points from -23 to -15. Both remained in poor territory.</p><p>Among those aged 45 to 54, satisfaction rose 11 points from -6 to +5, moving within the neutral range.</p><p>For Filipinos aged 55 and above, the rating climbed 19 points from -2 to +17, moving from neutral to moderate.</p><p>Satisfaction also improved among both women and men.</p><p>Among women, the rating increased 21 points from -15 to +6.
