‘Kung hindi alam, wag magsalita’: Palace blasts Erice’s doubts over filing of cases vs Romualdez

Edgar Erice should stop commenting on things that he is not privy to, Malacañang said on Thursday, labeling the lawmaker’s criticisms against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as figments of the imagination.</p><p>Erice earlier claimed that <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/27/marcos-says-multiple-charges-vs-romualdez-to-be-filed-soon-1621">Marcos’ pronouncement</a> that cases would soon be filed against his cousin former House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez was just for show as the Chief Executive cannot afford to jail his former ally whose controversial budget insertions the Palace approved in the previous years.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/21/bi-says-also-received-reports-of-alleged-romualdez-departure-plans-1023">BI says also received reports of alleged Romualdez departure plans</a></div><p>“Nagtataka ako bakit iniinterview pa si Cong. Erice kasi ang sinasabi niya, ‘I think,’ puro lang galing sa kaniyang isipan. Sa gobyerno, hindi tayo lagi nabubuhay sa theory, sa paninira,” Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro told Palace reporters.</p><p>“Nakausap niya ba Pangulo nang diretso para malaman niya ang damdamin ng Pangulo tungkol sa mga nasasangkot sa flood control mess? Kung hindi niya alam, wag siya magsalita na,” she said.</p><p>“Wala siyang karapatan maging spokesperson ng Pangulo unless papalitan niya ako dito,” she said.</p><p>If Erice knows legitimate details about irregularities in government, then he should lodge these with proper authorities, the Palace official said.</p><p>“Sino ba nagsasabi na alam nila na mastermind ang Speaker? Di ba obligasyon niyo na ibigay ang inyong kaalaman sa Ombudsman?” Castro asked.</p><p>“Pumunta kayo sa Ombudsman at doon niyo ibigay lahat ng alam ninyo… Obligasyon niyo yan Cong. Erice,” she added.</p><p>Castro also slammed Erice for sowing intrigues against the Marcos administration but has not been as critical on Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial.</p><p>“Siguro dapat malaman ni Cong.
