<p>MANILA — The Department of Education (DepEd) is warning teachers against using their students as content on their social media pages, Malacañang said on Thursday.</p><p>“Nakarating sa atensyon ng Department  of Education o DepEd ang ilang mga insidente na kinasasangkutan ng ilang mga pampublikong guro na ginagamit ang kanilang propesyon sa paglabas ng  mga content online,” Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro told Palace reporters, noting that using learners in their videos is a violation of the agency’s ethical standards.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/21/deped-wants-to-remain-government-s-biggest-funded-agency-for-2027-2048"><strong>After record P1.015-trillion funding, DepEd wants to remain government&#x27;s biggest-funded agency for 2027</strong></a></div><p>“Kaugnay  nito nagpa-alala ang DepEd  sa lahat ng mga pampublikong guro na iwasan ang ganitong mga  practice at panatilihin ang propesyonalismo sa trabaho sa loob man o labas ng apat na sulok ng paaralan,” she said. </p><p>“Nagpapaalala rin ang DepEd  sa mga guro na panindigan ang  kanilang sinumpaang tungkulin at patuloy na maging mabuting huwaran sa kanilang mga mag-aaral,” she added.</p><p>The announcement comes after a recent video — showing a student describing the President in class as “bangag” (high on drugs) — went viral. </p><p>Meantime, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said that it would soon file a complaint against a Facebook page and a website that has been found to be spreading fake news. </p><p>Castro declined to give further details.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/8/6/deped-davao-city-apologizes-over-viral-video-of-students-heckling-marcos-jr-2316"><strong>DepEd Davao City apologizes over viral video of students heckling Marcos Jr.</strong></a></div><p>The Marcos Jr. administration has been doubling down on the spread of misleading propaganda and disinformation online after several incidents of offline and online heckling targeted President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in recent months.</p><div> </div>
