MANILA - President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with Palafox Associates at Palafox Architecture Group, Inc. on Thursday to discuss the master plan for the development of the Ifugao Rice Terraces and its neighboring communities aimed at nurturing the Ifugao culture and advance “community-led tourism”.In photos released by Presidential Communications Office Thursday, Marcos Jr. was seen shaking hands with Palafox founder and principal Architect-Urban Planner Arch. Felino “Jun” Palafox Jr.  “Nakatuon ang panukala sa pangangalaga ng kulturang Ifugao at pagpapaunlad ng turismo bilang bahagi ng isang mas malawak na plano para sa sustainable development ng lugar,” the PCO said in its caption. The said “comprehensive urban, environmental, infrastructure and economic development master plan” includes preserving the iconic rice terraces and the traditional way of farming, boost farmer’s livelihood and the indigenous community and promote community-led tourism for the benefit of locals.“Sa ilalim ng panukala, pag-uugnayin ang heritage conservation, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, environmental protection, at climate resilience upang mapangalagaan ang mahigit 2,000 taong pamana ng Ifugao habang naglalayong lumikha ng mas maraming oportunidad at kabuhayan para sa mga komunidad na siyang tagapangalaga nito,” the PCO added.<div> </div>
