MANILA — Malacañang on Thursday warned cash-for-work program beneficiaries who have been creating staged videos to fake the service that they render in exchange for government aid.“Nakita natin na yung iba magpapapicture lang kunyare may winalis pero after that aalis na din. Minsan sila pa nagtatambak ng basura sa lugar,” Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a Palace briefing.“Kayo po hinahire para kayo ay maypagkakakitaan… Hindi kayo binabayaran para gumawa ng fake videos,” she said.“Kung sino may yung iniidolo ninyo na mahilig gumawa ng fake news, &#x27;wag niyo na tularan.”Castro did not give context to the warning, but it comes after the Palace affirmed that the government has hired some 1,500 cleaners for creeks and rivers.It also comes a day after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inspected the “sea of trash” that clogged several waterways in Parañaque City.The President earlier said that while the garbage situation in the country is “critical”, he has yet to consider this as a crisis.The Department of Environment and Natural Resources earlier said that 196 trash traps have been installed to facilitate the collection of floating debris in waterways.
