Totoo ba na may ginawang masama? Hindi ba totoo &#x27;yung mga akusasyon?&#x27;” Duterte said in an interview in Zamboanga City. </p><p>“So dapat mabilis yung proseso kasi nga ‘di ba sa ating Constitution nandiyan yung speedy administration,” she added. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/sara-duterte-impeachment-trial">Impeachment Trial of Sara Duterte </a></div><p>The impeachment trial was cancelled for a second day in a row on Wednesday due to inclement weather.    </p><p>Heavy rains also forced the cancellation of the trial on August 10, 2026.</p><p>Impeachment court spokesperson Regie Tongol noted that the trial schedule was initially plotted on the presumption that one witness would be called each day. But so far, some witnesses have taken up to three days on the witness stand. </p><p>“Meron tayong 31 days for Article 1 and hindi pa tayo gaano nakakalahati sa mga witnesses na ipapresenta ng prosecution. Twenty-seven witnesses yung nilista nila… Medyo in a way, delayed na tayo ngayon,” Tongol said. </p><p>“So far, parang mga two to three days pa lang naman yung medyo na-delay tayo in terms of yung plotting natin ng number of days per witnesses. I think six witness pa lang tayo ngayon. Dapat mga nasa ninth or tenth witness na tayo… It took yung ilang witnesses two to three days for them to finish their presentation, so talagang nauurong nang nauurong tayo,” he added. </p><p>But Tongol said this was not a cause for worry as the court would adjust accordingly, with additional trial days or hours, unless the parties themselves make adjustments by reducing the number of witnesses.</p><p>“Kung magkakaroon ba ng session ng Thursday o Friday or Saturday, of course, that is always under consideration and advisement. Malaman natin yan if yung Senate president tsaka yung presiding officer would rather opt to have extended days, parang mga make-up days, or will just continue on and then just extend it at the end na lang,” he said. </p><p>“Sa huli na lang tayo magdadagdag kasi baka naman hindi natin kailangan magdagdag for all we know dahil baka maglaglag din ng mga ilang witnesses yung mga parties. So let&#x27;s just wait and see for the meantime,” he added. </p><p>“It’s really a group effort, yung pagbabawas ng mga araw natin or paghabol ng araw natin.” </p><p>Another option is revamping the trial schedule altogether and swapping with the Senate plenary session for the afternoon slot, which was <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/12/zubiri-pushes-to-move-duterte-impeachment-trial-to-afternoon-schedule-0718">proposed by Senate Majority Leader Miguel Zubiri</a>.
