Daniza Fernandez, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA -- More than 200 families in Malabon have sought safer ground amid persistent rains caused by the southwest monsoon.Based on the local government’s data as of Wednesday, 6 p.m., 249 families or 957 individuals are in evacuation centers.The largest number of evacuees is in Barangay Panghulo with 127 families. Meanwhile, 48 families are in Barangay Dampalit, 44 in Tinajeros, 21 in Maysilo, and nine in Concepcion.Ligaya Seña, who evacuated preemptively, shared that she would have preferred to stay home to make and sell rugs with her husband to cover their daily expenses.<div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/8/19/nearly-entire-bataan-province-hit-by-habagat-flooding-2203">Nearly entire Bataan province hit by Habagat flooding </a> </div>However, she is short of money to even buy cloth, prompting her and her husband to seek shelter at the Panghulo National High School evacuation center, where aid will be distributed.&quot;Wala na naman kaming gagawing basahan, ni retaso, hahanap na naman kami,&quot; 70-year-old Seña said.&quot;Hirap po kami lalo ngayon, matanda na ako. Mga tuhod ko masakit na.
