<p>MANILA — Malacañang has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes at all levels in public and private schools, as well as work in government offices in the National Capital Region and other provinces on Thursday, August 20, due to the persistent bad weather.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/8/19/habagat-to-drench-western-luzon-as-neneng-slightly-intensifies-0804">Habagat to drench western Luzon as Neneng slightly intensifies</a></div><p>Face-to-face classes are suspended in the following areas:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc"><li>National Capital Region</li><li>Abra</li><li>Benguet</li><li>Ilocos Norte</li><li>Ilocos Sur</li><li>La Union</li><li>Pangasinan</li><li>Bataan</li><li>Bulacan</li><li>Nueva Ecija</li><li>Pampanga</li><li>Tarlac</li><li>Zambales</li><li>Batangas</li><li>Cavite</li><li>Laguna</li><li>Rizal</li><li>Occidental Mindoro</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>Government offices are also directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements, except for the agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services.</p><p>Localized cancellation or suspension of classes and/or work in government offices in other areas may be implemented by the local government, Malacañang said.</p><p>The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management, it added.</p><p>The University of Sto.
