<p>MANILA — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Monday said it would issue a warrant of seizure and detention for the sports car registered under the name of Derek Ramsay after the vehicle was found to have been allegedly misdeclared to evade higher taxes.</p><p>The agency, in coordination with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), checked the vehicle’s import documents after finding that it was using a fake license plate registered under Ramsay’s name, even though it had already been sold and its registration had not yet been transferred.</p><p>&quot;Ito ay pagkatapos ng warrant of seizure and detention at seizure proceedings, at napasakamay ng gobyerno. However, authorities are still investigating whether Ramsay had any involvement in the misdeclaration, as he may have purchased the vehicle in good faith.</p><p>&quot;Maraming mananagot dito. Talagang mas sinisinsin namin para mas madali ma-identify sa kalye,&quot; Lacanilao said.</p><p>The actor has said that he purchased the supercar in “good faith,” with all the proper documentation.  </p><p>“I am not a smuggler, nor did I import this vehicle into the country. I have never imported any vehicle into the Philippines,” he said on social media over the weekend. </p><p>“At the time of purchase, I was informed that the vehicle was tax-paid.
