Mark Balmores, PPA Pool/File</div>MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcomed a study highlighting the potential of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to become a global power, according to Malacañang.A study from the Philippine Institute of Development Studies (PIDS) suggests that the 11-member bloc is &quot;gaining the economic and strategic weight that could strengthen its position as a global power.&quot;However, it took note that &quot;stronger regional cohesion and institutions are needed to translate this weight into sustained global influence.&quot;&quot;Maganda pong balita iyan.
