Handout/PCO</div>MANILA— President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday led the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected officers of the National Movement of Young Legislators in Malacanang.The group is composed of young elected local officials aged 40 and below, and was established in 1989 via the Presidential Council for Youth Affairs.They work to strengthen the leadership and legislative capacities of its members and advance initiatives that improve the lives of Filipinos.Included in their projects are the NMYL Legacy Project, which provides clean and potable water to schools, initiatives against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children, and legal and governance training for young legislators.In his message, &quot;the President urged the new officers to lead with integrity, compassion, and a strong commitment to public service, while continuing to contribute to responsive, inclusive, and people-centered governance and nation-building,&quot; the PCO said in a news release.Senator Kiko Pangilinan served as the founding President of the group back when he was a Quezon City councilor.
