MANILA — The Supreme Court directed respondents to comment on a petition seeking to set aside orders on the Metro Manila P85 wage hike, including one from the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) for a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the increase.Readycon Trading and Construction Corporation, R-II Builders, Inc., and the Alliance of Philippine Fishing Federations, Inc. were told to submit their comments within 10 days from receipt of notice, based on a press briefer released on Friday.The Pasig City RTC earlier granted Readycon and R-II Builders’ request for a TRO.Aside from this, the Navotas City RTC ordered a clarificatory hearing on the Alliance of Philippine Fishing Federation’s prayer to issue a status quo ante order (SQAO).The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board of the National Capital Region (RTWPB–NCR) and the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), both directed by the Pasig RTC to stop implementation of the wage increase, were also told by the high court to comment on the petition for certiorari and prohibition.Kamanggagawa party-list, which filed the petition, invoked Article 126 of the Labor Code prohibiting the issuance of any court of a TRO against a wage order.<div><a class="fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/8/12/labor-groups-file-petition-at-sc-vs-pasig-court-s-tro-on-p85-wage-hike-1233">Labor groups file petition at SC vs. Pasig court’s TRO on P85 wage hike</a></div>
