Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA — An estimated eight million people across the Philippines have been affected by the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat, as well as tropical cyclones Luis, Maymay, and NenengAccording to data released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Saturday, 2.3 million families or eight million individuals in ten regions have been affected.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/29/dswd-on-red-alert-amid-prolonged-effects-of-habagat-0726">READ: DSWD on red alert amid prolonged effects of habagat</a></div>Some 25,800 individuals are still staying in 297 evacuation centers across the country.The death toll has reached 32, with 15 coming from Benguet.Nineteen persons suffered injuries and three are still missing.The damage to infrastructure has reached P6.11 billion, while damage to agriculture is pegged at P2.32 billion. Some 2,900 houses have suffered damages — with 349 totally destroyed.As of Saturday, 117 areas in the country have been placed under a state of calamity.
