Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA — The Senate impeachment court on Monday extended the deadline for several banks to comply with the subpoena for Vice President Sara Duterte’s bank records. “BDO Unibank and Security Bank manifested their request for an additional period of ten days, ten banking days rather, or until August 13 to submit documents which they were not able to submit on time,” presiding officer Francis Escudero said before the adjournment of the trial’s 11th day. “BDO requested for additional time to retrieve, compile, produce, and submit, um, item number three in the subpoena, namely all account transactions, records, ledgers, journals, et cetera, and transaction logs,” he said. “Meanwhile, Security Bank manifested that due to the volume, it was unable to complete the printing of documents pertaining to two of the 20 entities, namely Gen Corp Industries and Calia 88 Foods Corporation,” he added.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/30/bir-submits-duterte-tax-records-to-impeachment-court-1102">READ: BIR submits Duterte tax records to impeachment court with Marcos authorization</a></div>The Court has agreed to grant their request for extension for all bank documents and flash drives covered by the subpoena, Escudero said. “The same ruling applies for the other banks and, um, government agencies and offices,” he said.The BDO Unibank, Philippine Savings Bank, Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company, Security Bank, Land Bank of the Philippines, and the Bank of the Philippines Islands were earlier told to transmit Duterte’s financial records after the court agreed that these are necessary documents in the second-in-command’s impeachment proceedings.Meantime, the impeachment court adjourned its 11th trial day at half past 2 in the afternoon to give way to the Senate’s regular session.The prosecution is expected to continue is direct examination on state auditor Roderick Wamil on August 4.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/3/ovp-payment-to-mary-grace-piattos-raised-in-senate-trial-1556">READ: OVP receipt for &#x27;Mary Grace Piattos&#x27; reaches Senate trial</a></div>Earlier in the day, the prosecution’s questions about the Office of the Vide President’s confidential funds in the last quarter of 2022 focused on three main points.First, the lack of documents explaining why Duterte’s office had to use millions in confidential funds to disburse cash rewards, medicine and other supplies.Second, the discrepancy in dates as some acknowledgment receipts were dated December 2023, but were issued as early as 2022.Third, the excess P150,000 in the OVP’s liquidation documents. While the prosecution flagged nearly a dozen questionable beneficiaries of the confidential funds, House lawmakers said they have yet to decide if they would ask the impeachment court to summon these individuals as the names may either be aliases or pseudonyms.
