The officials observed the repacking of family food packs for a Quick Response Fund (QRF) reel showcasing the government’s readiness and swift disaster relief efforts. <em>Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News </em></span></span></span> MANILA — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Sunday said it is inviting volunteers to help repack food packs at its resource centers in Pasay City and Mandaue City in Cebu.</div><p>Volunteers are welcome to help from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday, according to Director Jun Eso, officer-in-charge of the DSWD’s National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB). </p><p>Eso advised interested individuals or groups to coordinate with the NRLMB prior to visiting the facilities for pre-registration, but walk-ins are also accepted. </p><p>The volunteers are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing, particularly closed shoes, to prevent workplace accidents. </p><p>Upon arrival, they will undergo a brief orientation and are requested to render at least four hours of service.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/30/marikina-and-quezon-city-residents-evacuate-as-marikina-river-hits-3rd-alarm-0844">Marikina and Quezon City residents evacuate as Marikina River hits 3rd Alarm</a></div><p>DSWD has said it had <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/9/dswd-5-million-food-packs-ready-for-distribution-1403">five million food packs</a> on standby across 1,000 warehouses nationwide prior to the onslaught of typhoons Luis, Maymay and Neneng.</p><p>The agency added that it is planning to establish its first dedicated relief production hub in Mindanao, to be located in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte. </p><p>At present, the DSWD has a rented warehouse in the area, which could accommodate 200,000 food packs.</p><p>The planned production hub is targeted to begin Phase 1 this year, subject to the availability of funding.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/K_8f17mwGbI?si=TcSRxZGz2qNCcnuq" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><br/></div>
