It was later fined for failure to deliver its commitments. <div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/1/14/doe-fines-leviste-s-solar-philippines-p24-b-for-failed-commitments-1151">READ: DOE fines Leviste&#x27;s Solar Philippines P24-B for failed commitments</a></div>&quot;Nabanggit po ninyo na ang amount na dapat ibabalik sa gobyerno ay umaabot nang P24 billion… Out of the P24 billion, magkano na po ang nakuha o na-recover ng ating pamahalaan?&quot; Akbayan party-list Representative Chel Diokno asked during the DOE budget hearing at the House on Wednesday.&quot;The P24 billion, Mr. Chair, is composed of different things. There was a payment of P80 million for training and development fee, Mr. Chair. The others are for the penalties on performance bond,&quot; Garin replied.&quot;The issue currently is in the hands of the Department of Justice. With the OSG also, Mr. Chair,&quot; Garin added.ABS-CBN News reached out to Leviste for comment but has yet to receive a response.When asked about the possibility of blacklisting Solar Philippines, Garin told lawmakers about a circular giving generation companies three strikes before this is done.&quot;Currently, we have just recently issued– because it&#x27;s not in any circular of DOE, the blacklisting. Or even suspension. So now, we have recently, I think a month or two months ago, we have recently issued a new circular on GenCos accountability, which gives them three strikes, and we can blacklist them. We have just recently issued the guidelines, and now we&#x27;re working on it,&quot; Garin said.
