<p>The Supreme Court has &ldquo;invited&rdquo; &nbsp;Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla and other parties to file a proper complaint with supporting evidence amid allegations of corruption in the judiciary.</p><p>In a statement, SC spokesperson Atty Camille Ting said the high court agrees with the Ombudsman that court proceedings at all levels must be accountable to the public.&nbsp;</p><p>This SC also said allegations of partiality, misconduct and corruption are taken seriously.&nbsp;</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/9/3/remulla-says-he-won-t-apply-for-chief-justice-urges-judiciary-to-go-on-soul-searching-1309"><strong>Remulla says he won&rsquo;t apply for chief justice, urges judiciary to go on soul searching</strong></a></div><p>The court, however, stated that it cannot act on &ldquo;broad allegations&rdquo; against an entire appellate court based only on public statements.&nbsp;</p><p>&ldquo;We therefore invite the Ombudsman, or any concerned party, to file the proper complaint and submit supporting evidence,&rdquo; Ting said.</p><p>The SC said a complaint filed will allow it to determine the facts and, when warranted, exercise its disciplinary authority.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/31/ombudsman-stands-by-probe-despite-revilla-bail-2342"><strong>Ombudsman stands by probe despite Revilla bail</strong></a></div><p>The SC also recalled its recent unanimous ruling on Heydarian, Cendana, and Gadon which affirmed the public&rsquo;s right to freedom of expression, including the right to criticize the courts and their decisions, noting the strong statements made against the court concerning one of its rulings.</p><p>The SC also stressed it welcomes fair criticism.&nbsp;</p><p>&ldquo;At the same time, serious accusations against judges and courts should be raised through the proper processes so they can be fairly investigated and resolved,&rdquo; Ting said.</p><div>&nbsp;</div>
