<p>MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation–Cavite North District Office (NBI-CAVIDO North) arrested seven people — four foreign nationals and three Filipinos — during a raid on an alleged online scam hub in Bacoor City, Cavite.</p><p>The operation was conducted around 11:30 p.m. on October 15, 2025, at a two-story residence in Barangay Panapaan, under a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data issued by RTC Branch 110 Judge Arnel Espiritu.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/10/14/scam-calls-up-by-78-in-3rd-quarter-of-2025-1841"><strong>Scam calls up by 78% in 3rd quarter of 2025</strong></a></div><p>NBI identified the alleged mastermind as a Chinese national known as “Daye.” Daye was arrested along with two Malaysians, an Indonesian, and three Filipino accomplices.</p><p>“May kasama tayong computer experts, at nakakuha tayo ng mahalagang ebidensiya na ang mga suspek ay sangkot sa computer-related fraud,” said NBI-CAVIDO North Chief Atty. Cesar Eric Nuqui.</p><p>(We brought along computer experts. They got valuable evidence that the suspects are involved in computer-related fraud)</p><p>The suspects were allegedly involved in online romance scams and cryptocurrency investment fraud.</p><p>He said some were tasked with finding potential victims while others posed as women to get closer to the targets. He said the suspects would block other users as soon as they sent the money.</p><p>Barangay officials said this was the second time a similar illegal operation had been discovered in the area.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/9/17/content-creator-loses-money-for-son-s-surgery-in-online-bank-scam-2055"><strong>Content creator loses money for son&#x27;s surgery in online bank scam</strong></a></div><p>The NBI seized five computers, about 100 cellphones, and several storage devices containing data related to online fraud.</p><p>The suspects face charges for violations of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (R.A. 10175) and the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (R.A. 12010).</p><p>The arrested individuals are currently detained at the NBI Detention Facility in Muntinlupa City pending further investigation.</p><div>  </div>
