Photo from Tanza MPS via Jeff Caparas, ABS-CBN News </div>MANILA — Tanza Municipal Police Station personnel on Saturday arrested a 21–year–old motorcycle rider after allegedly assaulting a police officer and ramming a patrol vehicle during an Oplan Sita checkpoint in Bgy. Biwas.Police Lieutenant Colonel Joven Bahil, Tanza MPS chief, identified the suspect as alias “J.”He was apprehended following a chase that began when Tanza police personnel flagged down his white Yamaha Mio Soul Sporty for a routine inspection at the Amaya Junction checkpoint in Bgy. Amaya I.“Instead of stopping, the suspect allegedly sped off with his back rider, prompting officers to pursue him. During the chase, the suspect intentionally bumped an officer attempting to intercept him. He then allegedly continued fleeing until he rammed the front bumper of a police mobile, causing damage to the windshield, headlight, hood, and bumper and placing officers’ lives in danger,” said Bahil.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/11/3/gunman-sa-pagpatay-sa-pulis-maynila-arestado-sa-imus-cavite-1651">Gunman sa pagpatay sa pulis-Maynila, arestado sa Imus, Cavite</a></div>Responding officers later recovered a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number loaded with two live rounds from the motorcycle’s compartment.Emergency responders transported both the suspect and his back rider to the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in Trece Martires City for medical treatment. Police said the suspect remains confined under custody.Authorities are preparing charges for Damage to Property, Direct Assault upon an Agent of a Person in Authority, and Violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) for filing before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.
