<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1762243954546crash site 11042025.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><em>Photo courtesy of Jeson Gavilan</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>2nd </strong><strong>UPDATE</strong>)— Six persons were killed after a military helicopter crashed in Loreto, Agusan del Sur on Tuesday, the Armed Forces of the Philippines&#x27; Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) has confirmed.</p><p>“The search and rescue operations have led to the recovery of six bodies believed to be those of the pilot and crew members of the ill-fated Super Huey helicopter,” the military said.</p><p>It also said the identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of their respective families.</p><p>It said the Super Huey aircraft was heading to areas affected by typhoon Tino to support disaster response when it crashed. </p><p>&quot;EastMinCom appeals for the public&#x27;s understanding, prayers, and cooperation as efforts to locate the crew continue. Further updates will be provided once additional information becomes available,&quot; EastMinCom added.</p><p>The Philippine Air Force, in a separate statement, said the helicopter was part of a flight of four helicopters that departed from Davao to Butuan to conduct a Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) mission.</p><p>&quot;Communication with the helicopter was lost, which immediately prompted the launch of a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation,&quot; it added.</p><p>PAF also said a thorough investigation is being conducted to determine the circumstances and cause of the accident.</p><p>Residents reported what appeared to be burned bodies at the crash site, but the military has yet to release additional details regarding the incident.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Mm2fv6facHk??si=EVCsP88AB2UY0LXi&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><br style="caret-color:rgb(0, 0, 0);color:rgb(0, 0, 0);--darkreader-inline-color:var(--darkreader-text-000000, #e8e6e3)" data-darkreader-inline-color=""/></div>
