Office of the President </span></span></span></div><div style="text-align:left"><br/></div><p>MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed 8 proclamations to declare special non-working holidays in different parts of the Philippines.</p><p>The proclamations were signed on mid-December, according to information from Malacañang.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/17/marcos-declares-special-non-working-days-in-6-municipalities-2-cities-1614">Marcos declares special non-working days in 6 municipalities, 2 cities</a></div><div><br/></div><div><b>THE SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAYS ARE AS FOLLOWS:</b><b></b></div><div><b><br/></b></div><p>• January 5, 2026: special non-working day in the municipality of Tagudin, Ilocos Sur (440th Founding Anniversary)</p><p>• January 5: special non-working day in the Municipality of Bauang, La Union (440th Founding Anniversary)</p><p>• January 6, 2026: special non-working day in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental (56th Charter Anniversary and 96th Anniversary as the capital of the province of Misamis Occidental)</p><p>• January 9, 2026: special non-working day in the City of Koronadal, South Cotabato (86th Founding Anniversary and the Koronadal Hinugyaw Festival)</p><p>• January 16, 2026: special non-working day in the City of Batangas (City Fiesta)</p><p>• January 21, 2026: special non-working day in the Municipality of Currimao, Ilocos Norte (Founding Anniversary)</p><p>• January 27, 2026: special non-working day in the Municipality of Tantangan, South Cotabato (65th Founding Anniversary and the 16th Kulitangtang Festival)</p><p>• January 31, 2026: special non-working day in the Municipality of Lian, Batangas, (Liberation Day)</p><div><br/></div><p>Under the law, the President is authorized to suspend classes and work in certain areas to commemorate or celebrate local festivities and cultural events.</p><div><br/></div><p>.</p>
