MANILA — Two workers died hours after they were buried and rescued when part of a building under construction collapsed in Santa Rosa, Laguna this weekend, police said Monday.Police said the two workers were rushed to the hospital but died on Sunday night.Investigators earlier said the workers, aged 29 and 42, were pouring concrete on the second floor of the building when the scaffolding where they two were standing collapsed. Sto. Domingo following the death of the two construction workers.The Office of the City Building Official and the City Engineering Office will inspect the construction site in the meantime.“Mag-iinspect na tayo to check yun naging insidente and they have to show us their yung protocol, safety protocols na gagawin after this incident,” Arcillas said.The mayor said assistance would be given to the families of the victims.
