(PAPI) matapos barilin sa kanyang bahay sa Kalibo, Aklan Martes ng gabi.Kinilala ang biktimang si Juan &quot;Johnny&quot; Dayang, 89-taong-gulang at residente sa lugar.Sa imbestigasyon ng Kalbo police, nanonood ng TV sa loob ng kanyang bahay ang biktima nang biglang dumating ang suspek na nakasuot ng itim na jacket at naka-helmet at pinagbabaril ang biktima.Mabilis na tumakas ang suspek sakay ng isang motorsiklo.Agad na dinala sa Aklan Provincial Hospital ang biktima pero ideneklarang dead on arrival ng doktor dahil sa tama ng bala sa kanyang likod.Patuloy ang hot pursuit operation ng Kalibo PNP at pagtukoy sa suspek at motibo sa nangyaring krimen.Si Dayang ay dating kolumnista ng Balita at Tempo sa ilalim ng Manila Bulletin Publishing Corp.Kinundena naman ng Presidential Task Force on Media Security ang pagpatay kay Dayang.&quot;We are closely coordinating with all concerned agencies to ensure the immediate resolution of this case,&quot; sabi ni PTFOMS Executive Director at Undersecretary Jose Torres Jr.&quot;We stand in solidarity with the media community as we mourn the passing of Mr. Dayang, a figure regarded as a pillar of Philippine journalism whose contributions greatly enriched our democratic discourse,&quot; dagdag nito, habang nakiramay sa pamilya ni Dayang.&quot;His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of journalists in their pursuit of truth and justice.&quot;
