<p><strong></strong>MANILA — Two people were injured Monday after gunshots were heard near a polling center in Bangued, Abra, disrupting the polls there, according to police — the latest in a <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/5/12/2-dead-5-wounded-in-silay-city-shooting-0937">raft of</a> <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/5/12/riot-sumiklab-sa-araw-ng-halalan2025-sa-marawi-city-1017">election-related violence</a> <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/5/12/comelec-child-hit-by-stray-bullet-in-davao-on-election-day-0900">that marred the start</a> <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/12/comelec-says-midterm-polls-smooth-so-far-despite-minor-glitches-1043">of the May 12 midterm elections</a>.</p><p>At around 7 a.m., Bangued police had to &quot;pacify&quot; a &quot;commotion&quot; at a polling precinct at the Sagap Elementary School, said PLt.Col. Residents subsequently saw two vehicles rushing to Bangued proper, he told TeleRadyo Serbisyo.</p><p>Personnel from Seares Memorial Hospital confirmed that two people who sustained gunshot wounds had been brought to them, said Pel-ey.
