<div><br/></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — The son of former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas failed to capture the congressional seat of the first district of Capiz in the May 12 polls.</p><p>Paolo Roxas accepted defeat to Pinuno party-list Rep. Howard Guintu, who garnered 130,531 votes based on the partial and unofficial results from Commission on Elections data as of 11:12 a.m., May 14.</p><p>The younger <a href="https://www.facebook.com/reel/559109556890495">Roxas </a>received 108,240 votes.</p><p>&quot;The majority have decided, the elections are over. Even if the decision does not favor me, I accept it fully. My heart has nothing but gratitude,&quot; Paolo said in Hiligaynon.</p><p>&quot;I thank all those who supported me. Thank you for the support. To the volunteers, thank you for your time and energy. You gave joy to my campaign. Thank you for giving me a chance to dream about our bright future.
