<p>MANILA -- The provincial government of Bulacan is calling on the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), which manages the Bustos Dam, to replace all of the dam&#x27;s rubber gates.</p><p>This comes after rubber gate number 3 was damaged on May 1 due to extreme heat. The dam has six rubber gates, and according to Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando, they fear that the remaining five could also be compromised.</p><p>&quot;&#x27;Yun lang panawagan ko sa NIA. Mura lang pala ang materyales nun, sabi ko palitan na &#x27;yan,&quot; Fernando said.</p><p>Fernando also pointed out that the dam’s water level has dropped from the usual 17 meters to 15 meters, which can affect their crops.</p><p>&quot;Ang maintaining balance niyan is 17 to sustain the crops ng Bulacan, &#x27;yung mga tanim-tanim namin, mga palay. Medyo hindi mabibigyan ng tubig ang mga tanim natin.
