MANILA — Classes and work in the local government of Santa Cruz, Laguna were suspended Wednesday due to an alleged bomb threat circulating on social media, Mayor Edgar "Egay" San Luis announced.

He said local authorities in Santa Cruz were investigating the alleged bomb threat.

The official urged residents not to immediately believe unofficial information, saying false news can cause fear, confusion, and danger.

San Luis told residents to be alert and to report suspicious activities.

Sa ganitong panahon, mas kailangan ang malasakit at pag-iingat," he said.
