<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:604px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/175332347384120230616-mayon-volcano-visitors-JC-1.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">People enjoy the view of Mayon volcano from the Legazpi baywalk in Legazpi City Albay on June 16, 2023. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Thursday issued a lahar advisory for Mayon Volcano as severe tropical storm Emong, tropical storm Dante, and the southwest monsoon or habagat continue to bring heavy rains over the Bicol region.</p><p>Phivolcs reminded residents near the volcano to increase vigilance as the rain could “generate volcanic sediment flows or lahars, muddy streamflows or muddy run-off in rivers and drainage areas on Mayon Volcano.”</p><p>Potential lahars and sediment-laden streamflows may occur along the Miisi, Binaan, Anoling, Quirangay, Maninila, Masarawag, Muladbucad, Nasisi, Mabinit, Matanag, Basud and Bulawan Channels in Albay Province, it said.</p><p>The agency advised communities and local government units to monitor the rainfall conditions and take preemptive response measures.</p><p>As of 8 a.m. Thursday, weather bureau Pagasa raised signal no. 3 over the northern portion of Pangasinan (Anda, Bolinao, Bani) and the western portion of La Union (Luna, Balaoan, Bacnotan, San Juan, City of San Fernando, Bauang, Caba).</p><p>Signal no. 2 is hoisted in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, rest of La Union, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, central portion of Pangasinan (Agno, Burgos, Mabini, City of Alaminos, Sual, Labrador, Bugallon, Infanta, Dasol, Lingayen, Binmaley, Dagupan City, Calasiao, Santa Barbara, Mangaldan, Mapandan, Manaoag, Laoac, Binalonan, San Manuel, San Nicolas, Pozorrubio, Sison, San Fabian, San Jacinto), northwestern and western portions of mainland Cagayan (Rizal, Santa Praxedes, Claveria), and western portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Kayapa, Santa Fe).</p><p>Signal no. 1 has been raised in Batanes, rest of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, western and central portions of Isabela (Santo Tomas, Delfin Albano, Quezon, Mallig, Quirino, Roxas, San Manuel, Aurora, San Mateo, Ramon, Cordon, Burgos, Cabatuan, Cabagan, San Pablo, Santa Maria, Tumauini, Gamu, Luna, Maconacon, Alicia, San Mariano, Naguilian, San Guillermo, City of Cauayan, Echague, Ilagan City, Angadanan, Benito Soliven, City of Santiago, Reina Mercedes, San Agustin, Divilacan, San Isidro, Jones), rest of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, rest of Pangasinan, northern and central portions of Zambales (Santa Cruz, Candelaria, Masinloc, Palauig, Iba, Botolan, Cabangan), Tarlac, western and central portions of Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Lupao, Talugtug, Cuyapo, Nampicuan, Guimba, Science City of Muñoz, San Jose City, Pantabangan, Rizal, Llanera, Talavera, Santo Domingo, Quezon, Licab, Aliaga, Zaragoza, San Antonio, Jaen, Cabanatuan City, Santa Rosa, General Mamerto Natividad, Palayan City, Bongabon, Laur).</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/7/24/emong-maintains-strength-as-it-heads-to-northern-luzon-0919">Emong maintains strength as it heads to northern Luzon</a></div><p>While Dante is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility Thursday afternoon to evening, Emong is projected to reach typhoon intensity prior to landfall in Ilocos on Thursday night or early Friday.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEOS:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/u8aF30HwG9w?si=s-RNZcHUt-0rJw7Y" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Zz9LphrCuBM?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
