MAYNILA (UPDATED) — Nagpahayag ng taos-pusong pakikiramay at pakikidalamhati ang Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) sa pamilya ni Police M/Sgt. Joel Mendoza, ang pulis na nasawi sa naganap na barilan sa loob ng Carmona City Police Station. Sa ulat ng Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO), dinala sa tanggapan ng pulisya ang kalalaya lang na suspek mula Ihawig Prison and Penal Farm dahil sa reklamong trespassing.“The suspect, who was recently incarcerated at the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm for a murder case and released only on June 28, 2025, was brought to the police station following a complaint of alleged trespassing,” ayon sa pahayag ng Cavite PPO noong Huwebes, ika-3 ng Hulyo.Nagtamo ang biktimang pulis ng dalawang tama ng bala na agad niyang ikinamatay.Nasawi rin ang suspek dahil sa palitan ng putok. Dasugatan din si Police Staff Sgt. Joseph Martin Fabula, kapwa nakatalaga sa Carmona City police station. “In a sudden and violent turn of events, the suspect grabbed the service firearm of a police officer and opened fire indiscriminately. The officer sustained two gunshot wounds, while another responding police personnel, who intervened quickly, was hit in the left leg. The suspect sustained multiple gunshot wounds after the responding officers returned fire,” ayon sa pahayag ng Cavite PPO.Nakarekober ang mga awtoridad ng isang Glock 9mm pistol na ginamit sa insidente.Nakaburol na ngayon sa Tanza, Cavite ang labi ni Mendoza. Labis ang hinagpis ng kanyang pamilya.Kuwento ng ina ng biktimang si Elena Mendoza, nasa barangay siya nang mabalitaan ang insidente ng pamamaril sa kanyang anak.“Iyong isang anak ko na bunso na pulis, tumawag sa akin. Kung alam ko na raw anong nangyari kay kuya niya. Ang sabi ko, ‘bakit ano ba nangyari?’ Ang sabi niya, ‘nabaril si kuya ng isang laya. Nasa ospital, hindi ko alam anong lagay’. At ang sabi doon sa ospital, sa emergency, kailangan pumunta agad ang immediate family,” ani Elena Mendoza, ina ng yumaong pulis.Nangungulila rin ngayon ang asawa ng pulis at ang dalawa nilang menor de edad na anak.“Gusto ko na lang siya maalala ng mga tao na pumupunta dito na isa siyang mabuting kaibigan, mabuting ama, asawa, anak, which is totoo naman. Kasi sobrang marami talaga nagmamahal sa kanya,” saad ni Joyle Anciro.Pinuri naman ni Police Col. Dwight Alegre, acting provincial director ng Cavite police, ang ipinakitang kagitingan at mabilis na pagtugon ng mga pulis na sangkot sa insidente. &quot;While this unfortunate incident reminds us of the unpredictability of the threats we may face, it also highlights the heroism, courage, and quick action of our police officers in containing a potentially deadlier situation,&quot; ani Alegre.Nangako si Alegre ng suporta sa mga pamilya ng mga pulis at pagkilala sa kanilang kagitingan sa serbisyo.&quot;Thorough investigations are ongoing to ensure that justice will be served and that preventive measures are strengthened,&quot; dagdag niya.Tinitiyak din ni Alegre sa publiko na sinusuri ang mga security protocol at nananatiling prayoridad ang kaligtasan ng mga pulis at ng komunidad.Bukod sa pagsusuri ng mga ebidensya, kabilang na ang inagaw na baril, sinabi rin ng Cavite PPO na mahalaga ring masiguro na hindi na mauulit ang ganitong insidente.<div> </div><div> </div>
