MANILA -- A 25-year-old person with disability who was recently crowned Miss Gay 2025 in Barangay Sambat, Tanauan City, Batangas, was found dead in Lipa City last Saturday.The victim, identified as Jericho Elliorante, bore 13 stab wounds in different parts of the body.The youngest of six siblings, Elliorante was described by family as kind and well-liked.“Mabait po siya, sobrang bait po niya. Person with disability po siya at halos lahat po ng tao dito kasundo niya” said the victim’s sister, Janine Elliorante.The body was found around 2 a.m. Saturday on a road in front of a chapel in Purok 3, Barangay Tangway, Lipa City.According to P/Lt. Col. Aleli Buaquen, chief of Lipa City Police Station, CCTV footage showed a tricycle passing near the crime scene around 12:30 midnight.Minutes later, a man was seen on CCTV peeking into an alley. Shortly after, he walked toward the victim’s body and took his wallet.The man was last seen crossing the street toward a house and was later identified by authorities with the help of residents.Police immediately arrested the suspect identified as “Alias Paul,” 26 years old, a cook who lives just a few meters from where the victim was found.According to Buaquen, the suspect admitted to the crime, saying that he and the victim had ridden the same tricycle and while on board, the victim allegedly touched him inappropriately.The suspect then invited the victim to his house, but as soon as they got off the tricycle and the driver left, the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times.“Doon daw sa traysikel, base sa account ng suspek, ay hinihipuan siya ng victim kaya ang sabi niya nainis siya tapos hanggang sa inaya niya sa kanila,” Buaquen said.The victim’s family, however, rejected the suspect’s statement, saying Jericho was respectful.“Doon po kami hindi maniniwala, kasi po yung kapatid namin yan, ayaw-ayaw niya pong lolokohin sa lalaki. Opo, bakla po siya, pero ayaw na ayaw po niya na dadaitan siya ng mga lalaki, galit po siya,” Janine said.Police recovered the victim&#x27;s empty wallet in a grassy lot where the suspect discarded it.Authorities also learned that the suspect had only been out of a drug rehabilitation center for a few months.“Sa background ng suspek siya ay na-rehab noong around May.
