MANILA — The Commission on Audit has ordered a fraud audit for the flood control projects in Bulacan, as the commission begins looking into flood mitigation programs following the launch of the “Sumbong sa Pangulo” website.A fraud audit seeks to gather all important and relevant documents with the intent to look for fraud in the transaction or the implementation of the project.Based on the memo dated August 12 but shared to the media today, COA Chairman Gamaliel Cordoba said the fraud audit covers flood control projects implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Cordoba cited the President’s “Sumbong” initiative — a website where the public can check all flood control projects and send reports about anomalies – Bulacan topped the provinces in Central Luzon that have the most number of flood control projects since 2022. <div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/17/map-flood-control-projects-in-luzon-excluding-metro-manila-1348">MAP: Flood control projects in Luzon, excluding Metro Manila </a></div>Forty-five percent of the P548 billion or P44 billion worth of flood control projects in the region is from Bulacan, noted Cordoba. “Given the critical issues raised by President Ferdinand R.
