(Photo courtesy of Thea Trinidad) </div>MALOLOS, Bulacan — Bulacan State University (BulSU) students remain defiant in continuing their campus walkout against alleged corruption in government projects on Friday, September 19.This comes even after the university administration announced on Wednesday the shift of classes to online synchronous mode on September 18 to 19, citing the possible impact of the transport strike on student attendance.The students hung up banners saying &quot;Campus Walkout Persists!&quot; in various spots and buildings inside the university, as they invited other state scholars to participate in the walkout despite the modality change.Some youth volunteers also started painting protest art.BulSU is considered one of the largest state educational institutions in Central Luzon, which is among the regions most affected by the flood control fiasco.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/9/5/bulacan-protesters-brave-rain-in-rally-vs-anomalous-flood-control-projects-2152">Bulacan protesters brave rain in rally vs. anomalous flood control projects</a></div>BulSU Student Regent and Student Government (SG) President Roshan Reyes told ABS-CBN News that the walkout symbolizes their service to the country.&quot;Sa buong Bulacan, malinaw ang mensahe: hindi kami bingi, hindi kami bulag, at lalong hindi kami duwag. Haharapin at huhubaran namin ang katotohanan sa mga anomalya ng flood control projects. Ang walkout ay panawagan ng hustisya, paniningil at pananagutan, at pag-aalsa ng kabataan para sa isang makatarungang kinabukasan,&quot; Reyes stressed.BulSUONE, one of the organizations leading the protest, issued <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1242737147880181&amp;set=a.224372533049986">a statement</a> emphasizing that the campus walkout would continue despite the modality adjustment.It also called on the university administration to take a stand against corruption.&quot;To the BulSU admin, we don’t need you to adjust anything. Let us express our rage in all forms possible. The most notable was the ₱55-million supposed “ghost” river wall project in Baliwag, which President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. personally inspected.The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) office in Bulacan also came under scrutiny after a former district engineer revealed that the photo of alleged bundles of cash shown during a House hearing had been sourced from the office.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/9/11/youth-protesters-rally-at-dpwh-bulacan-1703">Youth protesters rally at DPWH Bulacan</a></div>Student groups have since started mobilizing protests, calling out what they described as the government’s slow probe and lack of accountability over these issues.
