Jessie Cruzat, ABS-CBN News" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The body of Police Staff Sergeant Renato Casauay Jr. was found in a septic tank in Bulacan, January 31, 2026. <em>Jessie Cruzat, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA -- Authorities found the body of a police staff sergeant inside a septic tank in a yard in Felicissima Village, Barangay Mojon, Malolos, Bulacan, early Saturday morning, January 31. </p><p>A source informed ABS-CBN News that the body of Police Staff Sergeant Renato Casauay Jr., 46, bore gunshot wounds. It was already in a state of decomposition when it as found.</p><p>Police Staff Sergeant Casauay, who was assigned to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group, Special Operations Unit 3, was last seen alive on his birthday, January 24. </p><p>He reportedly told his wife that he was going to Malolos, Bulacan on a motorcycle, but he never returned home.</p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/2/1/cop-husband-arrested-as-suspect-in-disappearance-and-death-of-mollenido-son-1334"><strong>Cop husband in custody over disappearance and death of Mollenido, son </strong></a> </div><p>Four individuals have already been arrested by authorities in connection with Casauay’s death, including one police officer from Malolos City Police Station.</p><p>The area where the policeman’s body was found, believed to be a place where one of the arrested suspects was staying, is currently under tight security by the barangay and the police. </p><p>“Itong lugar na ito, paradahan ng mga TODA, mga tricycle. Namamasada. Tuwing duty kami sa gabi, umiikot kami. Tahimik sila kasi wala namang problemang nakakarating sa amin… Nagulat ho kami noong nabalitaan namin na gano’n. First time sa Mojon na nangyaring ganito,” said Ruperto Sumintac, barangay tanod of Barangay Mojon, Malolos.</p><p>Casauay’s ashes are currently lying in state in Baliwag, Bulacan.</p><p>His wife declined an interview, but she told ABS-CBN News that they will not stop until justice is served. </p><p>Neighbors were also shocked by the brutal fate of Casauay.</p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/31/ncrpo-arrests-suspects-in-disappearance-and-killing-of-policewoman-son-1038"><strong>NCRPO arrests suspects in disappearance and killing of policewoman, son</strong></a></div><p>“Medyo nalungkot po kasi biglaan po. Mabait po ‘yong tao na ‘yon. Wala po siyang kaaway dito. Wala. Hindi po siya kinakainggitan dito. Kahit lumabas siya dito, wala siyang yabang na pagka-pulis po,” said Arman Tiquia, neighbor of the victim. </p><p>The Malolos City PNP has not yet released any information regarding the incident as the investigation continues.</p><div> </div>
