Michael Aquino, spokesperson of the 2nd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, troops noticed a speedboat circling the area even before the arrest of the two Chinese nationals.</p><p>Aquino said soldiers guarding the area approached the suspicious vessel since the location had already been secured by authorities.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/11/p20-b-suspected-shabu-seized-from-speedboat-in-mindoro-2-chinese-escape-1231">P6.8-B suspected shabu seized from speedboat in Mindoro; 2 foreign nationals escape</a></div><p>The two Filipinos, who are reportedly from Nasugbu, Batangas, allegedly admitted during questioning that they were sent by an individual from Batangas whom they believed to be the owner of the aground speedboat.</p><p>The authorities declined to reveal the identity of the person who allegedly ordered the rescue attempt, citing an ongoing investigation.</p><p>The suspects were later turned over to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for proper investigation and legal processing.</p><div> </div><div><strong>MORE SUSPECTED DRUGS RECOVERED</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>Meanwhile, additional packs of suspected illegal drugs were recovered during continuing pursuit and search operations in the area on Wednesday.</p><p>Aquino said troops discovered around 30 more packs of suspected shabu near the coastal area, each estimated to weigh about one kilogram, and that the authorities were still determining how the additional packs ended up in the area.</p><p>Earlier reports from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency estimated that the seized suspected illegal drugs weigh around 860 kilograms with an estimated market value of about P5.8 billion, which is still subject to confirmation.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEOS</strong></div><div><strong><br/><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iVtl-27Ba-4?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></strong><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1PnG63PUpNU?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
