Photo courtesy of Monsour Cabangis dela Cruz" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">A yacht catches fire during a test run in the Malabon River. <em>Dennis Datu, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span>MANILA — A yacht caught fire while its owner was conducting a test run with a prospective buyer on board along the river in Barangay Dampalit, Malabon City on Saturday morning.</div><p>According to caretaker Denio Yco, he was aboard the yacht together with the owner, Agusto Reyes, who was steering the vessel, and the prospective buyer when flames suddenly erupted near the engine shortly before 9 a.m.</p><p>They maneuvered the yacht toward a nearby dike before it was eventually engulfed in thick black smoke.</p><p>Those on board were rescued by nearby boats that rushed to assist.</p><p>Firefighters also responded and extinguished the blaze, but the yacht was completely burned, leaving almost nothing behind.</p><p>Authorities said the yacht had just undergone repairs and was about to be sold.</p><p>No injuries were reported in the incident. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/14/2-sugatan-sa-nasunog-na-bahay-sa-caloocan-1056">2 sugatan sa nasunog na bahay sa Caloocan</a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JnGjwpn1uPg?si=L6KnqZlEQ2HU77Jc" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
