The Palace earlier said it would defer to Comelec&#x27;s authority in setting timelines and preparations for the BARMM polls.</p><p>The filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for district representatives, along with the submission of the list of nominees of regional parliamentary political parties and coalitions, will take place from May 5 to 7, 2026.</p><p>The campaign period will run from July 30 to September 12, followed by a mandatory 24-hour campaign silence.</p><p>Election day is set for September 14, while the deadline for filing Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) is October 14.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/25/comelec-says-real-work-begins-as-marcos-oks-moving-bangsamoro-polls-to-sept-2026-2311">Comelec says &#x27;real work begins&#x27; as Marcos OKs moving Bangsamoro polls to Sept. 2026</a></div><p>The election period, spanning July 16 to September 29, includes a nationwide gun ban and the prohibition on the use of unauthorized security personnel. </p><p>Transfers or details of government employees are barred unless approved by Comelec. The suspension of local elective officials is also prohibited without prior Commission consent.</p><p>From July 30 to September 12, candidates are prohibited from giving donations, appointing special policemen or confidential agents, hiring new government employees, or releasing and disbursing public funds, except for specific exempted transactions.</p><p>The construction of public works and the issuance of treasury warrants are likewise restricted.</p><p>On September 13, COMELEC will enforce a liquor ban, a ban on distributing free food, drinks, transportation, or items of value, and a prohibition on all forms of campaigning.</p><p>On election day, campaigning and vote solicitation are banned within and around polling places. Opening stalls within 30 meters of precincts is prohibited, along with cockfights, horse races, and other similar activities.</p><p>Selling or consuming liquor, using armored vehicles, and acting as unauthorized bodyguards are also disallowed.
