Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA -- The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it will increase its presence in Siargao amid rising reports of foreign nationals allegedly committing immigration violations and other &quot;undesirable&quot; activities.In an interview on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, BI Deputy Spokesperson Melvin Mabulac said reporting channels and information-sharing systems are being optimized to speed up the verification of complaints against foreign tourists.He added that once violations are verified, the bureau may impose deportation and blacklisting against foreign nationals found to have breached immigration laws.&quot;Pwede kung may sapat na dahilan po, pwede silang mag-proceed sa deportation case at mapadeport po sila at sila po ay mapasama sa blacklist,&quot; he said.Mabulac also clarified that even non-overstaying foreigners may face deportation if there is sufficient legal basis.&quot;Pag makita din po natin kung sila ay may mga reklamo mula sa ating community lalo’t-lalo sa local government unit, pwede pong umanda yung pagproposeso na possibility na sila ay undesirable at sila ay mapatawan natin ng deportation at sila may mapasama po sa ating mga blacklist,&quot; Mabulac said. &quot;Hindi dapat inaabuso ang hospitality ng ating bansang Pilipinas,&quot; he said.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/4/israel-embassy-condemns-misbehavior-of-some-israelis-in-siargao-2025">READ: Israel Embassy condemns misbehavior of some Israelis in Siargao</a></div>There have been recent reports of Israeli nationals allegedly assaulting café owners in General Luna, Siargao, after seeing a pro-Palestinian flag displayed outside the establishment. The foreigners reportedly threw rocks, damaged CCTV equipment, and injured the owners, prompting condemnation from local officials and the Department of Tourism.In response, the <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/5/4/israel-embassy-condemns-misbehavior-of-some-israelis-in-siargao-2025">Embassy of Israel</a> in the Philippines recently held a Zoom dialogue with more than 70 business owners in Siargao to strengthen communication and address community concerns regarding tourist behavior on the island.
