MANILA -- A man accused of molesting and attempting to rape two female relatives suffered injuries after jumping from a second-floor balcony while trying to evade arrest in Talisay, Batangas last week.The incident occurred late Monday night in Barangay Leynes, according to PLT Edwin Cruzat, chief of the Talisay Municipal Police Station.Prior to the incident, the suspect and the victims were reportedly drinking with several relatives at the family residence. When the victims began feeling sleepy, they went to their respective bedrooms on the second floor of the house to rest.Police said the suspect, identified only by the alias “Dagul,” allegedly followed the first victim into her room and began touching her inappropriately.The victim&#x27;s minor child reportedly witnessed the incident and ordered the suspect to leave the room.However, authorities said the suspect returned a few hours later and again allegedly molested the victim.The child then woke his mother, prompting the suspect to leave the room.Investigators later learned that the suspect proceeded to an adjacent bedroom where the second victim was sleeping alone.The suspect allegedly locked the bedroom door and began removing the victim&#x27;s clothing.Unbeknownst to him, the minor child of the first victim  had followed him and, through a window, reportedly witnessed what was happening to the second victim.The child immediately went downstairs and informed the second victim&#x27;s husband.The husband then kicked open the bedroom door, prompting the suspect to flee to the second-floor terrace before jumping to the ground below, causing him to lose consciousness.Responding police officers rushed the suspect to a hospital for treatment. After regaining consciousness, he was immediately placed under arrest.The suspect is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law, specifically Attempted Rape, as well as Acts of Lasciviousness.
