ANGELES CITY — The death toll from the collapse of a building under construction last May 24  in Balibago, Angeles City has climbed to 21 following the recovery of an infant’s body on Tuesday evening.The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Central Luzon has yet to determine the infant’s gender. Search and retrieval teams recovered the body at around 6:01 p.m.Earlier in the afternoon, shortly after 1:00 p.m., rescuers successively recovered three bodies — a man, a woman, and a young girl.The victims have not yet been identified. According to a source who spoke with ABS-CBN News, the three were found lying beside one another beneath the rubble.The same source said the infant was discovered still in a cradle, just a short distance from where the three other victims were recovered.Authorities believe there is a strong possibility that the four victims belonged to the same family.Jay Pelayo, head of the Angeles City Public Information Office, said the recovery of women and children from beneath the debris confirms earlier reports that some construction workers were staying in the barracks with their families when the building collapsed.“That is why we have always used the term ‘more or less’ when referring to the number of people involved, because there were reports that aside from the construction workers, some of their family members, including their spouses, were also there,” Pelayo said.Although the Unified Command Center’s list of missing persons has now dropped to zero, authorities stressed that search operations will continue beneath the rubble, especially after several recovered victims were found not to be included in the original list of missing persons.“Sa record na natanggap po namin zero na po  kaso po mayroon pa po tayo natatagpuan na wala po sa list ng mga construction worker na ibinigay sa atin, Kaya po patuloy tau maghahanap” said F/Supt. Ma. Leah Sajili, spokesperson of  BFP Cental Luzon.
