<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782373573813Screen Shot 2026-06-25 at 3.45.57 PM.png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. <em>PCO/Facebook</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited several provinces in the Soccsksargen Region on Thursday, June 25, where he vowed Mindanaoans of support for rehabilitation as they continue reeling from the effects of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake.</p><p>The President went to Koronadal City in South Cotabato for the &quot;Bawat Bayan Makikinabang&quot; project where he led the ceremonial turnover of Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) assistance worth P40 million to the Provincial Government of South Cotabato and P96 million to the Cotabato provincial government.</p><p>During his speech, Marcos mentioned the various assistance provided by the national government to quake-hit areas in Mindanao including cash transfers and housing assistance as he assured continuous aid for rehabilitation.  </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/17/death-toll-from-mindanao-quake-rises-to-68-as-33-remain-missing-1256">Death toll from Mindanao quake rises to 68 as 33 remain missing</a></div><p>South Cotabato has been placed under a state of calamity following the quake aftermath where 21,000 families and 170 barangays were affected.</p><p>“Asahan po ninyo, patuloy po nating ginagawa. Pinalitan din natin ‘yung sistema ng QRF. Dati, quick response fund pero isang taon bago mo makita. Kaya pinalitan namin ‘yong sistema para mas mabilis ang pagbaba ng QRF,” he said.</p><p>He also reiterated his move to strengthen direct coordination between the national and local government in disbursing the Local Government Support Fund as he drew from his experience as governor in Ilocos Norte for nine years.</p><p>“Tinatanong ko ‘yung mga kapwa governor ko sabi ko sa kanila, ‘Saan ba? Paano ba maka-avail? Papaano ba tayo makahingi?’ Sabi nila, ‘hindi, walang sistema. Basta kung sinong medyo malakas sa Palasyo, malakas sa Malacañang, eh kung makalapit sila, ‘yun ang nabibigyan.&#x27; Pero walang sistema,” he recounted.</p><p>“Kaya sabi ko, ito na ‘yong pagkakataon ko baguhin ang sistema para mapunta sa LGSF [Local Government Support Fund] sa local government,” Marcos added.</p><p>In the same province, the chief executive also visited the Department of Agriculture Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Program and the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s &quot;Walang Gutom&quot; or the Food Stamp Program which aims to address involuntary hunger, malnutrition and stunting among Filipinos.</p><p>Earlier in the day, Marcos visited Sultan Kudarat where he led the inauguration of the Antong Dam and Irrigation System Project which is said to have restored irrigation services to farmlands in the barangays of Antong, Sampong and Manili.</p><p>Around 355 farmers are expected to benefit from the rehabilitated project and will contribute to long-term agricultural productivity and food security, according to the Presidential Communications Office.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>FROM THE ARCHIVES</strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/QjVQrlubmY0?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
