Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Travelers enter the upgraded Integrated Passenger Terminal Building of the Port of Batangas in Batangas City, on June 14, 2022. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File</em></span></span></span></div><p>BATANGAS CITY - Travelers passing through Batangas Port will need to set aside more for their trips beginning July 1, 2026, as the second tranche of the approved terminal fee increase takes effect. </p><p>The terminal fee will increase from the current ₱60 to ₱90, following the implementation of an additional ₱30 charge.</p><p>According to Dominador Bustamante, spokesperson and Assistant Vice President for Strategic Communication and Public Affairs of Asian Terminals Inc., the operator of Batangas Port, the company acknowledges the concerns of passengers but said there is no basis for suspending the increase since it was approved by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) last year.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/6/21/batangas-port-passenger-with-p2-72-m-worth-of-suspected-shabu-arrested-2225"><strong>Batangas port passenger with P2.72-M worth of suspected shabu arrested</strong></a></div><p>“Ito naman kita niyo naman po ang ating transpormasyon ng Batangas Port, katumbas nito ay mahusay, maigting at moderno at makabagong serbisyo publiko,” Bustamante said. </p><p>The first ₱30 tranche took effect on January 1, 2026, raising the fee to ₱60, while the second ₱30 will bring it to ₱90 starting July 1.</p><p>Despite the increase, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), students, uniformed personnel, and Medal of Valor awardees remain exempt from paying terminal fees.</p><p>Bustamante assured the public that the higher terminal fee will be matched by further improvements in passenger services and facilities as Batangas Port continues to modernize its operations.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/12/22/ppa-moves-to-stop-express-entry-fixer-scheme-at-batangas-port-1413"><strong>PPA moves to stop &#x27;express entry&#x27; fixer scheme at Batangas port  </strong></a></div>
