<p>MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has launched an investigation into the online bomb threats that<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/7/9/no-explosives-found-8-pampanga-schools-cleared-after-bomb-scare-1355"> disrupted classes in eight public schools in San Fernando, Pampanga</a>, vowing to track down those behind the incident and file criminal charges.</p><p>PNP chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. ordered the Police Regional Office 3, the San Fernando City Police Station, and the Anti-Cybercrime Group to identify the individuals responsible for circulating the bomb threats on Facebook.</p><p>The PNP chief also directed police units nationwide to intensify cyber patrol operations to detect similar threats targeting schools and prevent further disruptions.</p><p>“We take every bomb threat seriously because the safety of our students, teachers, and school personnel is our highest priority,” Nartatez said in a statement. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/7/9/-copycat-phenomenon-more-incidents-of-school-violence-recorded-after-tacloban-shooting-deped-1430">‘Copycat phenomenon’: More incidents of school violence recorded after Tacloban shooting — DepEd</a></div><p>Authorities responded after bomb threats spread online prompted the inspection of eight schools in San Fernando City.</p><p>Among those affected were Potrero National High School and the nearby Duat, San Antonio, Balas, Sta. Barbara, Bacolor, Potrero, and Parulog Elementary Schools, which are located within the same school compound.</p><p>The Pampanga Provincial Explosive and Canine Unit swept the campuses and found no explosive devices.
