She became stronger and more alert, ate on her own, and responded well to treatment. These observations were the basis of our earlier recovery updates,&quot; the PEF said in a statement.</p><p>Marvin Linoy rescued the eagle on July 3 with the help of the Daraghuyan Ancestral Domain Indigenous Political Structure and the Inhandig Tribal Multi-Purpose Cooperative, the foundation said.</p><p>The foundation noted that the eagle was &quot;weak, dehydrated, and unable to eat on her own&quot; when it was rescued, adding that it sustained &quot;several wounds and a severe maggot infestation on her wings, abdomen, and tail area.&quot;</p><p>&quot;We share the grief of everyone who followed her journey and hoped for her recovery. Sawaga-Dalwangan’s rescue was not in vain, and the lessons from her case will help improve the care of other Philippine Eagles,&quot; the PEF said.</p><p>The foundation also expressed its deep gratitude to the Daraghuyan community, Linoy and his companions, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Malaybalay City Government, the Provincial Zoo, the veterinary teams, and all partners who helped rescue and care for the eagle.</p>
