MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation-Cordillera Administrative Region (NBI-CAR) rescued 11 female victims, including six minors, and arrested two alleged human traffickers in an entrapment operation at a hotel in Baguio City last Monday, the NBI said.They launched the operation after verifying intelligence that a woman identified as “Rose” was allegedly recruiting and transporting women from Bulacan to Baguio City to provide sexual services in exchange for money.The bureau alleged that “Rose” brought the 11 victims to the hotel and presented them to undercover agents posing as customers.They arrested her after she received the payment for bringing and delivering the victims for sexual services.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/7/ph-to-review-us-extradition-request-for-quiboloy-1905">PH to review US extradition request for Quiboloy</a></div>Police also arrested her alleged male accomplice, identified as &quot;Jivan&quot;, at the hotel lobby.&quot;Jivan&quot; allegedly assisted in organizing and transporting the victims and escorted four of them into a second vehicle.The operation was documented using body-worn cameras and a miniature camera carried by an undercover operative.The rescued victims were immediately turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for protective custody, assessment, counseling, and appropriate intervention.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/8/7/nbi-to-subpoena-four-lawyers-for-probe-on-alleged-plot-vs-recto-1630">NBI to subpoena four lawyers for probe on alleged plot vs Recto </a></div>Subsequent verification confirmed that six of the 11 victims were below 18 years old.The two suspects were charged the next day with Qualified Trafficking in Persons and alleged violations of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
