<p>Business owners in Tagaytay are struggling to make ends meet as persistent <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/8/19/habagat-to-drench-western-luzon-as-neneng-slightly-intensifies-0804">rains brought by the southwest monsoon</a> slowed tourist traffic.</p><p>Fruit stall owner Kim Mendoza said business has hit a slump for nearly two weeks since heavy rains started.</p><p>“Dumating na yung ganto, yung Habagat, halos lahat kami lugi. Nalugi kami pero kailangang magtyaga, di pwede isara,” she said.</p><p>Mendoza said vendors reduced the number of workers and the amount of fruit they buy to limit losses.</p><p>“Para makatipid kami bale nagbabawas kami ng tao para makatipid tapos nagbabawas kami ng bili ng prutas,” she said.</p><div><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2026/8/19/habagat-to-drench-western-luzon-as-neneng-slightly-intensifies-0804">Habagat to drench western Luzon as Neneng slightly intensifies </a></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1552787199667100%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560&amp;t=0" width="560" height="314" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe> </span>Flower seller Teodoro Robil of the Tagaytay City Market said sales briefly improved from Friday to Sunday but slowed again on Monday as rains returned.</div><p>“Ang problema namin pag-akyat ng mga turista kapag ganyang masama ang panahon dito sa Tagaytay kaya naapektuhan ang bentahan ng bulaklak,” Robil said.</p><p>“Nung Friday hanggang Sunday medyo lumakas.
