Calumpit is also coordinating with other nearby towns for long-term solutions to the decades-old problem of flooding,</p><p>“Sa ngayon, hindi pa po kami makagalaw dahil buong bayan po ng Calumpit ay mataas po ang tubig baha,” Faustino told ABS-CBN News. </p><p>(For now, we cannot do anything because all of Calumpit has flooding.) </p><p>She said towns need the national government&#x27;s help and acknowledged that Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon has inspected flood-control projects in Calumpit.</p><p>&quot;Kagandahan nito, at least may naumpisahan na — sa tingin ko naman po ito ay magtutuloy-tuloy at napakalaking ginahawa po sa bayan ng Calumpit kapag ito po ay nagawa ng maayos,&quot; she said.</p><p>(What is good is that at least they have started on the projects already — I think these will be completed and will ease the problems in Calumpit if done properly.)</p><p>Resident Racquel Bucsit said flooding may not have been so bad if government flood-control projects had been implemented as planned.</p><p>&quot;Sa susunod po, sana po ayusin nyo na po yung mga budget na ibinibigay sa inyo para sa flood control na sana gamitin nyo po sa tama,&quot; she said.</p><p>(In future, I hope the government uses the budget for flood control as intended.)</p>
