Jennifer Barzaga took her oath before the House plenary on Tuesday, <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2026/8/30/dasmari-as-city-mayor-jennifer-barzaga-replaces-son-kiko-as-4th-district-rep-0825">replacing her son Kiko</a>, who was <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/6/2/house-panel-recommends-kiko-barzaga-s-expulsion-1825">expelled </a>from the House of Representatives last June.</p><p>House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III administered the oath of office.</p><p>Rep. Barzaga won by a landslide, garnering a total of 201,893 votes in the special elections held last Saturday.</p><p>Her rival candidates received the following votes:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc"><li>Raul Rex Del Rosario Mangubat: 30,373 votes </li><li>Jacinto Jr. Bautista Frani: 24,350 votes </li><li>Marvin Opamin Dupal-Ag: 1,184 votes </li><li>Leysander Aguilar Ordenes: 561 votes</li></ul><div> </div><p>The special election was called to fill the seat vacated by the expulsion of Kiko Barzaga for what the House said was repeated parliamentary violations, unauthorized session hall livestreams, mocking House leadership, and other disorderly conduct unbecoming of a lawmaker.</p><p>With Jennifer Barzaga&#x27;s election as Cavite’s 4th District Representative, her son Vice Mayor Elpidio &quot;Third&quot; Barzaga III will take over as Dasmariñas City Mayor.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eV0qWIG18eI?si=9SQSXAouZ7K_hLYa" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><br/></div>
